LEWIS was observed to commit a vehicle code violation while driving a motorcycle near Cal Expo. When officers attempted to stop him for that violation, he fled at a high rate of speed and eventually crashed the motorcycle. LEWIS fled on foot and was apprehended nearby. The motorcycle was later determined to have been stolen from Cal Expo when the Sacramento Mile Motorcycle Race was being held. He failed to appear in court for a jury trial that was scheduled to begin the week of April 9.
