JANUARY

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • The identificiation of a parole violator who was committing a series of robberies in the south Sacramento area. The tipster also identified the partner who assisted in the robberies. Both suspects were arrested.
  • The identity, location and subsequent arrest of a carjacker, whose prior activities led to the death of a Sacramento Sheriff's K-9. 

FEBRUARY 2009

In mid February the Sacramento Crime Alert Program had a press conference in which several of the local media attended. The Crime Alert Program unvailed their new web page, new soft ware application, ability to text tip and our partnership with Comcast on Demand, Police Blotter Section.

  • The identification of a wanted felon. The suspect faced numerous charges including selling a dangerous weapon.        

MARCH  2009

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • The identification of a suspect from a surveillance photo posted on our Crime Alert web page and the subsequent arrest of one subject for multiple counts of forgery and burglary that involved several suspects, over a hundred victims in at least 6 jurisdictions in three (3) states in a "check washing scheme" using traveler's cheques.
  • The identity and arrest of a high risk pedophile on a fresh case who was living near an elementary school.
  • The arrest of four (4) additional fugitives, each from separate un-related tips.

APRIL 2009

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • Solving a Sacramento Sheriff's Homicide from November 2008 and arresting three suspects for their involvement in that case.
  • The identification of a suspect from a surveillance photo posted on the Crime Alert web page helped solve five (5) Sacramento Police Financial Crimes cases and arresting two responsibles for identification theft and forgery charges.
  • The arrest of five (5) additional fugitives, each from separate unrelated tips.  
  • A Crime Alert helped recover a gun.

MAY 2009

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • From a Crime Alert Tip from 2007 Sacramento Police were able to capture a "three striker" in Texas, wanted by for Assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury.
  • One tip helped solve an armed robbery in a local supermarket and the arrest of one of the suspects.
  • Another tip led to the arrest of a subject in Galt by Galt Police with a quarter pound of marijuana.
  • Another tip helped identify a male subject passing counterfeit bills (from a surveillance photo) at a Citrus Heights business and subsequently arrested him. 
  • Four (4) other fugitives were captured as well with separate unrelated tips.
  • Lastly a tip brought to light a child abuse case which lead to 4 children being taken into protective custody, locating and taking into custody a firearm and an arrest warrant followed by the arrest on one of the children's parents.

The Sacramento Crime Alert Program participated in the Yolo County Identity Theft Fair.  

JULY

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • The identification of two indiviuals who were selling narcotics and the confiscation of the narcotics.
  • The identificiation of a subject who was identified from surveillance video as an arsonist at a local school in Sacramento. Four suspects were identified and arrested.
  • The identificiation of a vehicle used to deal illegal narcotics. Two suspects were arrested, drugs, cash, a cell phone and the vehicle were seized.
  • The whereabouts & subsequent arrest of a known parole at large  

AUGUST

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • A the location of a person who was wanted on afelony warrant for arson
  • The identification of a suspect who broke into a local mortuary and stole a tractor and metal siding. Two suspects were subsequently arrested and the tractor was recovered.
  • The location of a Most Wanted Fugitive for failure to register as a sex offender
  • After posting a surveillance video a car thief was identified and subsequently arrested.

SEPTEMBER

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  •  A called reported a male attempting to break into a window of a downtown Sacramento building. Tip was forwarded to dispatch and a subject was arrested.
  • The address and specific vehicle of a parole violator wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.
  • The locations of two other parole violators in separate incidents. One of them resisted and K9 was deployed.
  • The name and location of a parolee at large living in Missouri.
  • Information identifying people dealing drugs in North Scramento. Suspect arrested, drugs and cash seized.

OCTOBER

Crime Alert Tips were responsible for:

  • The arrest of a n individual wanted for robbery, vandalism, and violation of a domestic retraining order. At the time of his arrest  arrest, he was in possession of various drugs and was preparing to “cook” a batch of Ephedrine.
  • The specific location of a Most Wanted person wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.
